Disabling Red Push on 2001 JVC D-Series AV-XXDX02
Red push is an increase in red saturation that was implemented to maintain more natural looking skin tones while still having a very blue white point. This setting is saved in the service menu in multiple places for different inputs and picture modes. Instructions to turn it off are below.

Standard mode for composite, S-Video, and RF
- Select Input 1 or 3 or antenna
- Use the Video Status button on the remote to select Standard, then enter the service menu by pressing Sleep Timer so that "Sleep Timer 0" is displayed, and then Video Status and Display at the same time.
- Press Vol+ to enter the Picture section
- Press CH- until you reach 34. R Y GAIN and then press Vol- to set it to zero
- Press CH- until you reach 38. CD MATRIX and then press Vol- to set it to zero
Standard mode for component YPbPr
- Select Input 2
- Use the Video Status button on the remote to select Standard, then enter the service menu by pressing Sleep Timer so that "Sleep Timer 0" is displayed, and then Video Status and Display at the same time.
- Press Vol+ to enter the Picture section
- Press CH- until you reach 35. CMP R Y and then press Vol- to set it to zero
- Press CH- until you reach 39. CMP CD M and then press Vol- to set it to zero
Theater Mode for composite, S-Video, and RF
- Select Input 1 or 3 or antenna
- Use the Video Status button on the remote to select Theater, then enter the service menu by pressing Sleep Timer so that "Sleep Timer 0" is displayed, and then Video Status and Display at the same time.
- Press CH- to scroll down to Theater
- Press Vol+ to enter the Theater section
- Press CH- until you reach page 2/2
- Press CH- until you reach CD MAT. and then press Vol- to set it to zero
- Press CH- until you reach R Y GAIN and then press Vol- to set it to zero
Theater Mode for component YPbPr
- Select Input 2
- Use the Video Status button on the remote to select Theater, then enter the service menu by pressing Sleep Timer so that "Sleep Timer 0" is displayed, and then Video Status and Display at the same time.
- Press CH- to scroll down to Theater
- Press Vol+ to enter the Theater section
- Press CH- until you reach page 2/2
- Press CH- until CMP CD is highlighted and then press Vol- to set it to zero
- Press CH- until you reach CMP R Y and then press Vol- to set it to zero
