Repair Notes

• Unit was completely dead. The main filter capacitor after the bridge rectifier was reading 167VDC but there were no voltages on the secondary side. The gate of the switching mosfet Q501 measured at less than a volt and the resistance between the source and the gate was less than 300 ohms. When taken out of circuit and put into a component tester it tested as two resistors. Replacing it restored all the secondary power rails but the unit still would not power on and there were no relay clicks. Cause undetermined.

Notes

Like many Orion made sets from this time, this tv includes an hour counter. To access it you need to hold down 6 on the remote while pressing the volume down button on the tv.
