It can either be powered with it's 12V AC adapter, cigarette lighter, or with 10 C cell alkaline batteries. There are variants of this set, some with and without composite input, and both carry the same model number. If you are using an AC adapter, please make sure it supplied 1A at 12VDC. There have been cases of poor image quality due to an undersized power supply.

Be sure to check the rear inputs if you are looking at getting one. External RF is via 3.5mm, so an adapter is required if you plan to use it.
