Summary

16" Trinitron PC monitor by Digiview, made in Taiwan by Amtran Technology in 1996. The Digiview brand was owned by Continental Technology Inc. (CTI). This particular model was the centerpiece of Digiview's aggressive marketing campaign as being a reliable budget brand. It is also (as far as I can tell) the only Trinitron monitor Digiview produced.

"The Digiview 1709D does an impressive job with both text and images. ..."

"..., the Digiview's large 15.9-inch viewable screen, sharp .25mm stripe pitch Diamondtron tube, and ample controls make it a good choice."

"In desktop publishing, graphical design or everyday work, a monitor's ergonomics and image quality are important. With the Digiview HR-1709D you'll have both, and at a fair price."

"One of the monitors based on Mitsubishi's impressive DiamondTron tube, the Digiview HR-1709D combines quality parts with a relatively low $879 list price."

Notes

Since this set uses a Trinitron tube with an RS232 serial connection, it is assumed it may be compatible with WinDAS, though I am uncertain.

Also, interestingly enough, this is one of the few PC monitors that I know of that can scan at 24Khz, making it potentially useful for Japanese computers like the PC-98 and Sharp X68000.
