Repair Notes
- Raster was only about a half-inch wide and and on the very left edge of the screen due to electrolytic C433 having gone open, 470uF 35V.
- Raster was too small vertically even with the vertical size pot maxed out. Even though C402 tested fine for ESR and capacitance in and out of circuit, replacing it fixed the issue (2.2uF 50V).
- Could not center the raster vertically; within the full range of the vertical position pot it was still a bit high. Lifted one leg of R454 to lower the raster a little bit more.
This CRT is confirmed to be a hot chassis.
Hot Chassis means that "ground" on the chassis is tied to one side of the AC input from the wall, and touching it with your hand will complete a live circuit through your body to earth ground if the CRT is plugged into an AC outlet. The proper way to avoid this danger is to use an isolation transformer to isolate the CRT from earth ground and prevent electrocuting yourself.
