Summary

High resolution broadcast monitor with a 10" (9" viewable) 450 TVL shadow mask tube. Despite its small size, this monitor is very sharp and displays visible scan lines in 240p. It accepts composite, S-Video, RGB, and component video signals, and has a single speaker for audio.

Notes

The monitor in these photos was modified with a 3-pin circular connector on the back of the case; normally this is not present.

Unlike most monitors of this size, the TM10-17RA uses a 70 degree deflection tube. It also appears to have dual horizontal output transistors; one drives the horizontal deflection coil while the other drives the flyback transformer.

Ikegami produced several optional accessory kits for this monitor, including digital SDI and 12v DC power inputs.

Fan Mod

This monitor can easily be modified with an added fan. The back of the case has a mounting spot for a 40x20mm fan, and a nearby 12 volt power supply.

A good candidate for this mod is the Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX. This fan is the correct size, runs on 12 volts, has the correct power cable length, and is very quiet.

Power for the fan can be taken from CN318. This is a 6 pin DIP header, with 12 volts on pin 6 and ground on pin 2.

To connect the fan, the original 3-pin power connecter can be removed and replaced with a 6 pin Dupont connector. The red wire goes to 12v power, the black wire is ground, and the yellow wire is not needed.

The fan can be mounted to the rear panel with two 6-32 x 1 1/4" screws and corresponding lock nuts. The power cables can be routed behind the speaker. Now, when the monitor is powered on, the fan will activate and provide additional cooling.
