Summary

JVC Co. of America unveiled its first professional, mid-resolution studio monitor—the TM-9RU. The 9-inch (diagonal screen) unit includes switch-controlled "Underscan," which allows user to view the entire video image; internal/external sync, which locks the monitor into a video production or editing system; and a built-in comb filter that produces a sharper, more discernible picture by separating luminance and chrominance signals.

Notes

There is a small door at the top rear of the case that allows access to RGB white balance adjustments.

This series of JVC monitors uses a 9" viewable tube from Hitachi with a 76 degree deflection angle. Later models used 90 degree Panasonic & Chunghwa tubes that are not compatible.

S-Video mod may be an option. The comb filter outputs luma to TP-42 / pin 15 of IC202, and chroma to TP-52 / pin 11 of IC301.
