Notes

This set uses a common chassis found in many other Philips models. It is essentially a slightly lower-end 27PT543S/37A, being that it is lacking certain menu options. Otherwise, it is functionally identical.

Reds and blues are pushed by default. Now some may like the saturated tones, but others may prefer a more natural image. For those who want a picture like an RGB monitor, I recommend setting color temperature to COOL and turning down color saturation to ~20. (The images below are of the set after making these adjustments.)

The Philips jungle chip supports 288p/576i @50hz, but it will only be in color over component. Other oddball frequencies within the 15khz range are accepted.

Service Menu

To enter Service Alignment Mode, press 0-6-2-5-9-6 followed by RECALL (Magnavox remote) or MENU (Philips remote). The service menu is fairly sparse with limited geometry controls and only RGB drive adjustments.
