Repair Notes

• Unit's raster was shrunken on both axes and out of focus. Since both the vert and horizontal were shrunken my first guess was low B+, which it indeed was 70v instead of 130v. I removed the h.o.t. and put a dummy load (light bulb) on the B+, and the B+ was still low suggesting a power supply issue. I put the h.o.t. back in. Rectification tested correct so the issue was with the B+ regulation. The one electrolytic in that circuit had relatively high ESR around 30 ohms, though replacing did not fix the issue. Checking all the rest of the components in the B+ regulator circuit revealed that resistor R435 130K had gone open. Replaced with 100k and 33k in series.

Notes

If the channel number stays on-screen and does not go away, there is a toggle for it in the display settings.

Some other sets with this chassis used a separate audio/video jack board with opto-isolators to add a composite input.
