This set uses a "Diamond Vision" tube made of certain light-absorbing chemicals that are mixed directly into the glass itself. This gives the tube a bluish-violet appearance. This particular set uses the RCA tube, made in the USA. Mitsubishi also made their own Diamond Vision tubes in Japan.
