Summary

One of the very last direct-view CRT televisions manufactured by Mitsubishi for the United States market, sold from mid-1997 to around March 1998. It was the only 40" standard definition CRT TV with component inputs ever sold in North America, and the only US-market Mitsubishi CRT TV with component inputs.

Notes

Manufactured at Mitsubishi's Braselton, GA facility. The M100LJL63X picture tube was made by Mitsubishi in Japan. Has TV Guide+ built in, not that it's very useful these days. This set has "Diamond Series" emblazoned on the front. The only other set of the time to have that labeling is model CS-36609, but that one doesn't have component input. It also utilizes dual tuners for PiP.

Component video quality is pretty great, although there is a bit of a "luma shadow" that is cast to the side of contrasting pixels. Still looks quite good, all things considered.
