Summary

The NEC AccuSync 90 is a 19-inch class (18-inch viewable) shadow mask CRT computer monitor designed for VGA analog RGB input. It supports a horizontal scan range of 31–96 kHz and vertical refresh rates up to 160 Hz. The monitor is optimized for 1024×768 (XGA) at high refresh rates, while also supporting higher resolutions such as 1280×1024 within its scan limits.

The unit features an OSD (on-screen display) for user adjustments, along with internal service-level controls accessible through the service manual. It uses a 90-degree deflection CRT with a 0.26 mm dot pitch and NEC’s OptiClear screen treatment.

This model is part of the N9902-1 series and shares its chassis and service architecture with several NEC MultiSync and AccuSync monitors of the same generation.

Notes

Some units (like this particular one imaged) may be found with optional speaker stands but these were not standard and are not present on all AccuSync 90 units.

Typical of NEC monitors from this era, the unit supports high refresh rates even at higher resolutions, and many examples are capable of running 1280×1024 at 85Hz within spec limits.

Features OptiClear anti-glare coating, which can wear or scratch over time depending on use and cleaning methods. Avoid alcohol and windex and aim for clean water and a microfiber cloth.

As part of the N9902-1 chassis family, this monitor shares internal design and service procedures with several NEC MultiSync and AccuSync models.
