Summary

The very first Panasonic Tau model released in North America. Used for both professional installations and consumer use, this display supports RF, composite, s-video, and component inputs. SD signals are linedoubled, and 480p and 1080i are natively scanned. Has three front firing 7W speakers: left, right, and center channels. Made in Japan in 1999.

Notes

This set has a cool feature in the menu called GAME MODE. When turned on, SD video sources are linedoubled with artificial scanlines injected into the signal! The effect looks like native 240p or 480i content. However, according to Shankmods, GAME MODE does have a drawback in that the framebuffer process adds one frame of latency. Nevertheless, its still a cool feature.
