Summary

This 5" diagonal portable black and white television is one of the Outsiders, so it's meant for on-the-go fun with 4-way operation that lets you power it from either AC current, rechargeable battery, dry cell batteries, or car/vehicle battery. The AM/FM radio with slide-rule tuning makes it easy to locate your favorite stations. Electronic tuning gives smooth channel reception. Quick-on picture tube. Complete with AC adaptor and car cord. Earphone and earphone jack included. Molded carrying handle.

Mods & Repair Guides

A composite mod was briefly attempted. Lifting the resistor leg at TP13 and injecting composite to the lifted leg resulted in the video appearing but without horizontal sync. Then the positive side of C402 was lifted and composite was sent to the lifted leg of the capacitor as well, which gave a horizontal lock but the picture was way off center with retrace lines. Both injections were then disconnected and injection was attempted by attaching to the lifted leg of C112 that originally leading to pin 8 of AN5710. This did not work and resulted in a blank screen. Further testing is needed.

Notes

It displays "AC/DC" on the front, but that is just in reference to using it with an AC adapter, as the unit itself does not have an AC input. Can also run off of six D batteries under the bottom panel.
