Summary

30" widescreen standard-definition CRT by Philips. Originally manufactured in Mexico. It is lovely gem of a TV with exquisite handling of component, better-than-average voltage regulation, and nice sounding speakers.

Notes

There are six screen modes that can be selected using the left/right buttons on the remote: "4:3" (a pillarboxed raster;) "Zoom 14:9", (a 4:3 raster zoomed in to be cropped a vertically a bit, but still pillarboxed with thinner black bars on the sides;) "Zoom 16:9" (a 4:3 raster zoomed in to fill the horizontal width completely;) "Subtitle Zoom", (same as Zoom 16:9 but positioned at the bottom of the raster to focus on subtitles;) "Superwide" and "Widescreen" two different wide aspect ratios.

There is also a vertical shifting feature called "nudge" that you can adjust by pressing the up/down buttons on the remote. However, "nudge" does not work in Widescreen mode.

Raster can be rotated to account for possible yoke misalignment.

This set can be distinguished from the HD models by the lack of the "HDTV" logo in the bottom left-hand part of the base.
