Notes
This set is essentially a multisync presentation monitor. It supports 240p/480i, 480p/960i, 600p/1200i, and 1280x1080i. The component input is an improvement on the previous MM100 models by supporting both standard-def and higher resolutions. (The VGA inputs can accept 15khz RGBHV, but it is displayed with garbage pixel artifacts.)
The picture tube is a special design made exclusively by RCA in the United States. It has a much finer dot pitch compared to other tubes of it's time, as well as invar shadow mask and dual focus support. This same tube was featured in other sets by Hitachi, as well as some arcade chassis. Simply incredible!
Sharpness adjustment is essentially velocity modulation. It is advised you turn it all the way off to have unmutilated pixels.
Reds are pushed pretty hard, but a turning the color saturation down in the standard menu should counteract it. After that, performing a white balance in the service menu should get it looking more accurate.
The set features four front-firing speakers and have great sound when new. Unfortunately, the cones on these speakers are notorious for wearing out quickly.
