Sampo VME-23V3

Summary

32" color presentation TV/monitor by Sampo. Presumably launched in 2001, though an earlier production date is possible. Has composite and s-video inputs with stereo sound. TV can accept NTSC and PAL signals. Originally manufactured in Taiwan. Set is essentially a stripped-down presentation monitor as it lacks the multisync RGB support. Intended for basic video presentations in institutions and businesses.

Notes

This set employs velocity modulation that you cannot turn off in the standard or service menus. The only way to disable it is to disconnect the input and/or output wires on the VM board.

15khz RGB, and component YPbPr mods are possible on this set. Unfortunately, no service manual/schematics can be found for this set.

This particular model was rebadged by PictureTel—a video conferencing company—and would have been bundled with a mobile desk stand, PC, and webcam.
