Summary

A surprisingly great 31" TV by Sanyo. While it says on the model sticker that it was assembled in the USA from imported parts, I believe it was manufactured in Mexico. This set is an underappreciated gem.

Notes

The set has very nice handling of s-video, just a very warm and inviting image. There is a bit of blooming, but overall, it looks good.

The picture tube inside is either a Panasonic, Hitachi or Philips model. And its a rather atypical 34cm one. (The first set of included images of the picture quality are of the Panasonic tube, whereas the second set is of the Philips one.)

Despite having 1W speaker per channel, I had a pretty loud and nice-sounding experience with this set. Consumer reviews of this model have also corroborated that it has great speakers.

Jungle chip is a Sanyo LA76170N, and it has pins for analog RGB, so a mod is possible. However, the datasheet for the chip is not available online. Fortunately, someone cross-referenced it to an almost identical chip, a Sanyo LA76075. Datasheet HERE
