Notes

On this TV, a remote with additional plus and minus buttons is required to navigate the menu and adjust picture settings. I programmed a universal remote to operate the TV and VCR and it could bring up the menu, but not navigate it.

Repair Notes

Unit would not turn on. 5VDC was missing from the power switch board and 16VDC was missing from pin 4 of IC701 due to C709 100μF 50V having gone open. After having replaced C709, unit then turned on but within less than a minute there was a pop sound and smoke came from the vertical IC which had visible burn mark and a piece missing from the package. It was replaced. C508 in the vertical section, also 100μF 50V, had gone open as well.
