Summary

Somewhat obscure worldwide-market Trinitron from the late 80s/early 90s. Has an A-class Trinitron CRT made in Japan, unlike most 90s+ consumer A-class Trinitrons which were made in the USA (assuming you are in the USA).

Most notable feature is that it supports RGB via Euro SCART in the back. Blanking voltage is required for the RGB input to work - most quality SCART console cables will have this.

Internally this monitor is disappointingly cheap - a large percentage of the PCBs inside are unpopulated bare boards, and the performance reflects that. The picture is soft and lacks bloom regulation.

Notes

  • Internal amplifier is rated for 8ohm 15W stereo speakers.
  • Inside the boards are joined together by edge connectors which are prone to oxidation.
  • SCART input requires blanking voltage to work. Auto-input switching relies on the switching voltage pin.
