Summary
The first color Trinitron ever sold in the US. Hit the market in the Summer of 1968. There is an earlier revision of this model (KV-7010U) which features a prototype tube from Sony known as the Chromatron, or Chromagnatron. This early model is extremely rare, it is believed less than 1000 were even sold and only two have been confirmed to still exist thus far. This Chromatron model is marked as "Micro Color" on the top front of the face, with no "Trinitron" logo.
The versions with a Trinitron tube have the "Trinitron" logo on the front top right corner. Early serial numbers have a 3-square RGB logo (see gallery below). Afterwards they switched to have the more recognizable 3-circle RGB logo.
Interestingly, even though the front of the KV-7010 says "solid state", it still relies on a DY86 high voltage rectifier tube mounted laterally in the bottom of the chassis. This tube is more common in Europe and NOS examples can be imported. There is an equivalent US tube IS2A that works great.

Notes
The chassis design is very compact, which means the components in it are not ventilated well - if the TV has a fair amount of hours on it you will likely want to replace all of the capacitors inside before putting many more hours on it. They have likely been exposed to higher than normal temperature for an extended period of time, which ruins them.
If your UHF switch doesn't work anymore, the plastic switch inside is probably worn down. If you remove the bottom of the TV and look at the side of the UHF tuner you will see a small white plastic wheel with a nub on it. To fix the worn-down plastic I sleeved part of a heatstrink tube over it and shrunk it witha heat gun. Worked like a charm. See gallery below for reference (last image before the brochure pages).
