Summary

The KX-2501 is a 27" (25" viewable 68cm tube) prosumer TV from the 1980s with composite input. The "A" in the model number denotes analog RGB compatibility - the regular 2501 only supports digital (TTL) RGB.

Notes

This TV is framed with solid wood and steel - it weighs a SOLID 120lbs and is very dense. I recommend bringing someone to help if you are going to pick one up.

This TV has a surprising amount of deflection and convergence adjustments but they are all in a very complicated-to-access area inside the TV. I suggest using a plastic screwdriver and electronic safety gloves to adjust it, as it is very easy to short out components by accident or shock yourself by accidentally brushing it against the PCBs while checking your work on the screen.

The RGB input is a proprietary pinout by Sony. You can make your own adapter using an IDE cable or you can build a PCB-based adapter with BNC jacks. The pinout is in both the owner's manual and the service manual, and if you search on Google there are several solutions for making these adapters yourself.
