Summary

From the same generation as the PVM 2030. An alternative model KX-14CP1 with identical specs and different inputs (no s-video, SCART instead of DB25 RGB) was also marketed as part of the "ProFeel" line in Europe. In Japan it was commonly marketed as a good monitor to pair with Sony MSX computers.

Internally it's a much simpler design than the broadcasting PVMs of the same generation. Performance-wise you will see a slight difference because of this. HV regulation is not as stabilized, so you will see the size of the picture change nearly 10% with bright scenes.

Tube Swapping

The stock picture tube for this PVM is the 400 TVL consumer-level Trinitron A34JHS10X, which is shared with a couple other PVMs including the 1341, 1351 and 1440QM. The 450TVL A34JHS12X from the PVM 1350 and 1351Q will also fit this chassis. Lastly both of those tubes are interchangeable with the professional-level HR Trinitron 600 TVL M34KBE20X used by the PVM 1342Q, 1354Q, 1444Q and 1343MD. The same deflection yoke is shared between many of these chassis but not all. Make sure you double-check the part number (or even better, the yoke inductance if you have an LCR meter) - when in doubt, just keep the original yoke from your chassis and put it on the swapped tube.

Click the tube number in the spec sheet to the right to view all CRTs in the database which share the same picture tube.
