Summary
Sony marketed a very high end line of products dubbed "Q U A L I A" between 2003 and 2005 with a strong focus on aesthetic, design, and build quality. This CRT, known as Qualia 15, was part of the launch lineup with a hefty MSRP of 1 300 000 ¥, making it one of the most expensive consumer CRTs ever made. This 36" television used a newly developed combination phosphor and color filter film which allows it to reach a better color gamut and better reflection reduction. It was also designed to work on it's specially made anodized aluminum floor stand so that the television would be tilted up at 10° for a relaxed viewing experience.
