Like monochrome CRTs in general, inputting a composite video signal with color present will result in chroma dot artifacts everywhere because there is no notch or comb filter to remove the color information. Monochrome TVs are intended for composite luminance, which is just the luma (Y) from s-video/component, or sending native black and white content over regular composite. All pictures were taken using standard composite, hence the Mario games having chroma dots all over which would be avoided by using just the Y cable from component instead. Twilight Zone is native black and white with no color information, so it does not exhibit chroma dots when using composite.
