The 14AF41 and 14AF42 use a Toshiba TB1253N jungle chip, which has exceptionally clean component video processing. Video quality is noticeably better than subsequent revisions (14AF43 and onward). This jungle chip can be modified for RGB using the OSD Mux method.

The 14AF41 uses a 14" viewable tube made by Panasonic. Starting with the 14AF42, Orion began using rebranded Chunghwa tubes.

The 14AF41 has functional horizontal geometry controls in the service menu - the only 14AF variant to do so. It also has noticeably better horizontal linearity than the later models.

Like many other Orion TVs, this model lacks an input select button on the front panel, and cannot change video sources without the remote control.
