Picture quality is decent, but still held back a bit by the Renesas jungle chip. And an RGB mod will certainly make things look a lot better.

So given the Cinema Series tradition, this set should use higher-wattage speakers right? Actually no. They're the same 5W speakers as the other 27" AFs. What distinguishes this model against the standard 27AF43 are the following:

• 3 line dig. comb filter vs 3D Y/C dig comb filter
• Has movie and sports picture modes
• Color temperature control
• Two s-video inputs as opposed to one
• Tilt correction
