Notes

Picture quality is a step down compared to the Toshiba-made HD models, I'd say. There's some weird color fringing going on which cannot be dialed out. And this is after VM was turned off in the user menu and unplugging the neckboard jumper, as well as settings sharpness to 25%. Still, I'd say this set is pretty good looking despite the flaws.

Picture tube is a Matsushita-Toshiba model made at their Malaysian plant. This would be among the last made by the company before the merger was shut down later in the year. There are two focus knobs on the flyback, so you can really tighten the focus on this tube.

This set uses "CrystalScan HDSC", which is essentially processing which converts all signals to 540p/1080i. I've been told that all signals--including 1080i--have lag. However, if you're not very sensitive to lag, it may not be a problem for you.
