Summary

In 1997 Sony rebuilt their entire CRT projector line-up from scratch. With this rebuild they introduced their new flagship, the VPH-G90 (along with the lower end VPH-D50 and intermediate VPH-G70 models).

The G90 is Sony's best (and last) CRT projector. It uses 9" liquid-coupled tubes with electromagnetic focus, is capable of a 150 Khz scan rate (high enough to display 1080p and even 2550x2000p), accepts component input along with the regular video/s-video/RGB inputs, outputs a super-bright 1300 lumens of light output, and has digital convergence and on screen menus with lots of built-in test patterns. The G90 represents the absolute highest in 9" CRT projector performance on par with the Barco 1209s/Cine9 and the Electrohome Marquee 9500LC Ultra.
