Summary

13" stereo TV/DVD combo with PAL-M/N compatibility and S-Video.

Manuals

Notes

The DVD player is internally connected via composite. While the set has stereo inputs and stereo speakers, it seems to do a mixdown making it moreso output a combined mono mix from both speakers rather than true stereo.

Composite decoding is done by a notch filter which does a decent job for 240p content, though does not mitigate cross luminance aka dot crawl as much as could be done. Thanks to its s-video input, a better external notch filter could be used to decode composite for the set instead, and completely or nearly completely eliminate dot crawl.

Repair Notes

If the DVD tray does not open or opens slowly, take off the belt from the DVD drive and rotate it so that a different side of its square shape is making contact with the wheels and put it back on. I did this on two different units and it fixed the no or slow eject.

After fixing the ejecting mechanism, the unit pictured would not recognize DVDs. Swapping the laser mechanism with a known good mechanism did not resolve the issue. Fault suspected on the Hermione Granger board. The DVD functionality alone was in French on this one, unlike the rest of the TV's menus.

Unit pictured would not turn on. The following parts had failed and needed to be replaced: FU501, C564, C595, VD504, VD506, V513, V511, VD551.
