The default sharpness level causes noticeable ringing, and to be mitigated must be reduced significantly. Like other JVC sets that year, changes to picture settings in the user menu will not be retained unless saved as Choice (see p. 22 of owner's manual for instructions).

In addition to the vertical position setting in the service menu, there is also an internal three-position switch.
