Summary

27" JVC D-Series, one of the very first models released in 1999. Has a full set of inputs: RF, composite, s-video, and component. Made at JVC's Tijuana, Mexico plant.

Notes

The JVC jungle chip is good, but there are mild luma transition errors in the signal. It can also be RGB modded.

Picture tube is an RCA-Thomson model used in other higher-end TV sets and arcade chassis of the day. It is a VHP model with a finer dot pitch, flatter curvature, better focusing method, bonded yoke, and a single magnetic sheath on the neck for convergence. It is a significantly better tube than the RCA-Thomson's A68ADT25X tube that came in later JVC models, and it doesn't suffer from the edges of the screen losing focus due to use as severely. Unfortunately, horizontal linearity leaves a bit to be desired.

There is no vertical centering/position adjustment in the service menu. Fortunately, you can adjust the vertical centering via a switch inside the set:
