One thing that you absolutely, positively must do is disable the red push on these sets. The over-saturation of reddish tones is utterly insane.
JVC sets with component inputs made from 2002-onward can have red push disabled by setting service menu option "NTSC-MAT" to 0.
Now after you turn this setting off, there may still be some saturation boosting of the reds and blues, so turn down the color in the standard menu until those tones look correct. After that, go back into the service menu and perform a white balance.
I also advise to turn off VSM and sharpening in the standard menu. Once you do all these tweaks, the image should look fantastic.
