Notes

The AV-27432 is identical to the AV-32430, but with a silver front bezel instead of black. It uses the same chassis and tubes as the AV-32D104 and AV-32D304.

Unlike the previous years' models, the AV-32430 and AV-32432 don't require the component video input to be enabled in the user menu. Instead, the input select button cycles between composite and YPbPr modes on the video 2 input. If the picture displays in black and white when component video is connected, press the input button one more time and it should switch to YPbPr mode.

This TV has a 1-chip chassis design and cannot be modded for RGB. However, the component video quality is excellent and there is little to be gained by doing so.

JVC used three different picture tubes in this 32" CRT model indicated by a letters M, R, or Y after the serial number. M units contain a Matsushita/Panasonic tube, R units an RCA/Thomson tube, and Y units a Toshiba tube. The differences in quality between the tubes brands/models are negligible; when it comes to overall performance, condition is the determining factor. The particlar unit featured in this article uses the RCA/Thomson tube made in Mexico, which uses a bonded yoke.
