Unlike many Orion TVs, the AV input can be selected with the channel buttons. However, a remote with Menu, Enter, and navigation buttons is required to access and make adjustments in the user menu. Not all JVC remotes have extra navigation buttons, as many just use the channel and volume buttons for moving around the menus, which would be insufficient for this set.
Even after turning sharpness and sub-sharpness all the way down there was still noticeable ringing. Like other Orion sets of the time, the OSD also exhibits ringing, which would negatively affect an RGB-mux mod. Composite is decoded with a decent notch filter.
There is an internal potentiometer for vertical position in addition to the service menu adjustment.
