Notes

Trinitrons using the BA-1 and BA-2 chassis are capable of syncing to 50 Hz. To enable this, enter the service menu and set VSMO to 1. PAL video will still be in black and white if you use the composite inputs, but can be displayed in color via an RGB mod.

With the BA-2 chassis, Sony began simplifying their chassis design and, in the process removed features that were present in previous generations. Most notably, these TVs no longer have an H Stat pot on the neck board to regulate horizontal convergence. As such, all adjustments must be done using the neck rings.

The 20" BA-2 models were also the first Trinitrons in that size range to use 90 degree tubes, which allowed them to eliminate both the pincushion correction circuit and the horizontal linearity coil. While this did reduce costs, the TV has noticeably worse geometry and linearity as a result. The tube itself no longer has the internal bleeder resistor found in most Trinitrons, which allows for a shorter neck but causes the tube to hold a charge longer. With these TVs it is very important to discharge the tube fully before removing the anode cap.

This TV uses the same PCB and jungle chip as the KV-13M10. It can be RGB modded using the same method as that TV, although you'd have to find a different location for the SCART connector.
