Summary

Standard early '90s consumer Trinitron with one composite AV input and a mono speaker. Features a true 20" tube and retains the boxy design from the '80s. Uses the same chassis design as the KV-13TR27 and KV-19TR20. As with those models, the 20TR22 cannot accept RGB through the jungle chip, but can likely be modified to accept S-Video.

Notes

This generation of Trinitrons is not completely compatible with later Sony remotes. While basic controls such as channel select, volume, and power are the same, picture adjustments cannot be changed from the front panel and require "Select" and "Picture +/-" buttons that are missing on newer remotes. Obtaining an original remote is essential to properly enjoy these TVs.

Unlike later models, this chassis design does not have a service menu, and all adjustments are done via trim pots on the chassis. It was also one of their last TVs of this size to include a pincushion correction circuit, and has adjustment pots for horizontal geometry.
