Notes

Like the 24FV300, the speakers used in this model are prone to foam rot and usually do not work properly. Shielded speakers with the correct size and rating (4 ohm, 10 watt) are difficult to find, however. 8 ohm speakers can be substituted, although audio volume will be reduced.

Unlike the 27" and larger BA-5 Trinitrons, this TV does not have native component inputs. However, its jungle chip is very versatile and can be modified for RGB and YPbPr component video.

Most of Sony's flat Trinitrons contain a velocity modulation circuit. VM enhances dark outlines on screen, which helps hide composite dot crawl and can make TV and movies look better. However, it ruins pixel art and significantly degrades the appearance of 2D games. On this model, it can be disabled in the user menu.

A common problem with Sony's flat CRTs is horizontal bowing, especially near the bottom edge of the screen. This is usually caused by poor yoke alignment, and can be corrected. For more information, see the "Adjusting a Flat CRT Yoke" page.
