Summary

Relatively unknown 27" Sony from the mid 80s. This set does not have a tuner, which makes it a composite-only video monitor. There are also no audio inputs, no speakers, no speaker amplifier, or any other connections on the back. Just composite.

From the literature I've seen, it looks like it was meant to be paired with an external pro-audio setup from Sony - for example their APM speakers with an external amplifier.

Similarly to the Sony KV-27DS1 (another somewhat rare P3 chassis from the same era), this was made in Sony's San Diego factory.

It was sold as part of an entire A/V rig called the Access 301, Access 202, or sold separately.

Notes

As with most 1980s Sony TVs, this model has a hot chassis and should not be modified for S-Video input unless precautions are taken to isolate the input signal with an opto-isolator or transformer as seen in the guide below:
