Summary

13" black & white broadcast monitor from Sony. Due to it being monochrome, it has a standard round tube instead of the usual Trinitron shape. Picture is extremely sharp, and is rated at 1000 TVL. Despite using a larger tube, the chassis is mostly the same as the PVM-96.

Notes

As with all monochrome monitors, the picture is much cleaner if you're able to input composite luminance rather than composite video. This can be obtained from S-Video (via an RCA adapter), or from component video if you use the green RCA plug.

This monitor had a very long production run, from 1993 until the mid-2000s.

The phosphor used in the PVM-96 and PVM-136 has a white balance of 6500k. Sony also produced the PVM-137, which used a 9300k phosphor but was otherwise identical.
