Summary

An excellent 27" flat screen CRT TV, manufactured by Toshiba in the USA. Features a full set of inputs, including Component, S-Video, and Composite. This is one of only a handful of 27" AF models that Toshiba made in-house, as the next year all their sets in that size would be made by Orion.

Notes

This set uses a higher-quality tube made at Toshiba's Japanese picture tube factory. It really benefits from the two focus knobs on the flyback, allowing for more precise focus of the electron beam, resulting in more evenly-defined scanlines across the whole screen once adjusted.

To achieve clear pixels without edge enhancement, you must first disable velocity modulation by unplugging jumper P703 from the neckboard. After that, set sharpness to ~20 in the standard menu. This will result in natural-looking pixel art over component.

This set has "red-push" and "blue-push" that emphasizes and boosts the saturation of reddish and bluish tones, making them appear blown out. As far as I know, this cannot be disabled completely. Turning down the color saturation in the standard menu will help, as well as adjusting white balance in the service menu. An RGB modification via the OSD Mux method is possible on this model, and it will bypass this processing, resulting in a more natural and accurate image compared to component.
