JVC produced three base model 27" TVs in 2002: the AV-27320, AV-27330, and AV-27S33. All three have component, S-Video, and composite inputs. Unlike the other two models from the same year, the 27320 has a single A/V port in the back for all 3 input types, while the 27330 and 27S33 have separate inputs for component and composite/s-video.

The component inputs on these TVs can be switched between YPbPr and composite video via the user menu. If the picture displays in black and white when component video is connected, go to the "setup" section of the user menu and enable "component-in".

This TV has a 1-chip chassis design and cannot be modded for RGB. However, the component video quality is excellent and there is little to be gained by doing so.

JVC used two different picture tubes in their 27" TVs, indicated by a letter S or R after the serial number. S units contain a Samsung tube, and those with an R use a Thompson/RCA tube. Thompson tubes are sought after due to their vibrant colors, however they use a bonded yoke and cannot be adjusted to correct for convergence errors.
