Notes

The Toshiba jungle chip this set uses has a digital OSD so an RGB mod is not possible. That's not a problem, however, as the picture quality is excellent once you dial it in!

To disable red push, go into the service menu and set option "NTSC MAT" to 0. Be aware that this is not just one universal setting to adjust, but rather is saved separately for different inputs, picture modes, and color temperatures. To disable for all combinations, see full instructions under Mods & Repair Guides. Now there will still be some boosting of the reds and blues, so turn down color saturation in the standard menu until those tones look normal. Lastly, perform a white balance in the service menu to get it looking just right. After tweaking contrast and brightness as well as turning sharpness down, the resulting image will look just like a giant arcade monitor.

There were three tube models used in this set, and the letter beside the serial number designated who the tube maker was; RCA (R), Toshiba (Y), and Matsushita/Panasonic (M). The picture tube in this particular set is the Panasonic one, and it is excellent.
