This model is best used with 480p, 720p, and 1080i resolutions. As with most HD CRTs, everything is scaled to 540p or 1080i. As a result, 240p/480i video contains numerous scaling artifacts and has significant lag. It is a great TV for Gamecube/Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4, but fares poorly with earlier consoles outputting 240p/480i. Also great for Blu-Rays and upscaled DVDs.

Notes

VSM can be disabled in the service menu by setting VM Level to zero in the Video Adjust2 sub-menu. To enter the service menu, turn the set off and press Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power. These TVs have a USB port on the back, which was intended for firmware updates. In practice, it doesn't serve any other purpose, although it is useful as a power source.

If left unplugged, picture adjustments will not be remembered. SlimFits are prone to yoke sag which will distort the geometry; this can usually be corrected, however, and with some work they can have a very good picture. For more information, see the "Adjusting a Flat CRT Yoke" page.
