Summary
Advanced features and ultimate performance is what this 27" Stereo TV is all about. 3-Line Digital Comb Filter, Component Video Input, TheaterPro 6500K Color Temperature Setting, S-Video Input, 2 AV Inputs, XDS Auto Clock Set with ID Display and BBE High Definition Audio deliver a picture more vibrant, and sound more natural than any other standard definition TV.
Curved set with component input. While this chassis is not readily RGB-moddable, the gains over component in this model year would be marginal due to its very good component decoding.

Notes
- Unlike some earlier model years which would not save picture adjustments unless they were saved to the Choice mode, all picture adjustments for all modes are now automatically saved. Like most sets, the default sharpness level is so high that it causes noticeable ringing, but it is easy to dial back in the user menu.
- To disable vertical edge enhancement, which changes the colors at vertical transitions to increase apparent contrast for composite and RF sources, set LYC02 to zero in the 3L Y / C sub-menu of the service menu.
- "TheaterPro 6500K" mode has a dedicated button on the remote to switch to it.
TheaterPro 6500K Temperature Technology makes sure that the video you watch is set to that standard color temperature so that what you see is as true to what the film to video editors intended it to be.
- On the back label, an R or RAA suffix indicates the tube is made by Thomson, S for Samsung. While the suffixes to the serial number on the back label indicate who the tube manufacturer was, the picture quality of a set is determined by evaluating the picture itself and NOT by simply checking the suffix on the back label. For more details on the differences see the 27" JVC D-Series Comparison listed in the Mods & Repair Guides above.

Composite 240p Performance
For composite decoding this set uses a Toshiba TC90A49AP, a 3-line digital comb filter. Depending on the console/revision, dot artifacting ranges from slight to severe, and blending effects may be broken. If the set has an s-video or component YPbPr input, then using a good external notch filter to decode composite instead and sending that to the set would blend all dithering patterns and avoid nearly all dot artifacts (full guide here).
